It's all about B....

Hello Vocadlets!

I hope you are all having a fab half term, and not letting this rubbish weather get in the way of your plans!
Im sure you have all heard about our exciting events going on at the moment, INCLUDING our exciting VOCADEMY album competition, turning the lights on at Horsham, end of term gigs, and various other Christmas events we’re currently organising! Im so excited about this album competition, and I’ve been listening to all your entries, they’re sounding BRILLIANT!

Nowwwwww, it’s absolutely NO secret that I am a major fan of big voices in the music industry, including Jessie J, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson etc. But I have to say, Beyonce has to be one of my all time faves. Not just because of her voice, but because of the awesome show she always delivers, and her incredible fashion choices. Beyonce owns a fashion label House of Dereon alongside her mother Tina Knowles. Beyonce is the creative push behind the company, and usually designs all her on stage outfits, along with her mother’s help. Ive been surfing the web to bring all you little lovelys images of beyonces best AND worst outfits, and BOY.. ive found some corkers!;

HoD black and gold – I’ve got definite mixed feelings about this dress, However Ive put it in B’s worst dressed because I DEFINITIELY think she could, and has done better. In some ways I think it’s vintage and elegantly simple, but on the other hand, I don’t like how brassy and yellow the gold of the pattern is. Hmmm, definitely split decisions. What do you guys think?

Dustbin lid.. Erm, I mean, silver and black..
This dress is wrong on so many levels. Firstly, critics were right when they called the dress a ‘dustbin lid’ dress, after Cheryl Cole wore a similar one on the X factor a couple of years ago.  And although it is definitely different, I think it’s slightly chav, and not Beyonce at all! Sad sad times for the queen of pop!

BRACE yourselves...
I really don’t know why, but I love this outfit. It turns masculinity into femininity, and is very simple but classy. I like how the whole outfit is fitted, showing off Beyonce’s gorgeous hourglass figure,  and teamed with a pair of heels, brings a slight edge of sassiness to the ensemble. And don’t even get me STARTED on the braces. LOVE them. Thumbs up B!

Babydoll
B looks absolutely stunning in this floor length baby pink dress. I love how it’s so simple, and yet has gorgeous detailing down the front. Beyonce has always been a fan of the strapless, mermaid style dress, and we can see why. The light colour contrasts with her gorgeous cinnamon skin tone, FAB!

Hey, you know what I heard recently. Beyonce’s pregnancy is fake! Whoops! Now, as a true fan of the queen herself, I didn’t believe it at first, I thought, this always happens, everyone makes conspiracies about EVERYTHING! Buuuuutttt, have a look at the video and see for yourself…

I KNOW!!

What do YOU think?

Keep singing guys!

Florence and the Machine.. and her shoes!!

HI VOCADLETS J
How are we all doing? It’s getting a bit chilly at the moment isn’t it! I’m very sad about this as it seems we didn’t have much of a summer L Is anyone off on their holidays soon?

First off I just wanted to say a massive BRAVO! Because I’ve been visiting some of the Vocademy’s recently, and I have to say, you are all sounding AH-MA-ZINGG! You guys really get into the songs, its sooo cool to see!
And seeeeeeen as you guys are so awesome, you’re DEFINITELY going to all have to get involved in our new Vocademy competition. Im VERY excited about this, just because it’s so awesome and we’ve never done anything like this at Vocademy before! We are making….. A VOCADEMY ALBUM. I know, I KNOW!
All you guys have to do is send us a recording of yourself singing a song, and send it to us here at Vocademy HQ! Then, it will be judged, and you will have a chance of recording your song in a real recording studio, and have it feature on the album! Sound like something you’d be interested in? Then click on this Vocademy link: Events for all the info J
I am so excited about hearing what you guys send in! Make the song your own, play around with the ad libs, and mix things up!

Now we’ve got that out of the way…
Which one of you Vocadlets likes Florence and the Machine?
I think there is definitely a split audience with this one, someone even said to me she’s like marmite – you either love her or hate her. Well, whatever your opinion may be.. NO-ONE can deny her powerhouse vocals! With MASSIVE hits like ‘You’ve got the love’ and ‘The dog days are over’ everyone definitely knows who she is. SO, what is your guys verdict on the recent release ‘Shake it out ‘? The single was officially released on the 30th September,  and I have to say.. not being a massive fan of Florence and the Machine I was VERY reluctant to listen to it. I was never a fan of her voice, and the more indie sound of her songs were never my choice of music. HOWEVER. I ADORE this track. Her strong, and let’s face it, LOUD, vocals definitely remind me of singers such as Adele, and the style of the song has an Annie Lennox twang! I love the way the song is very busy and big, and really makes me want to sing along at the top of my lungs, which is definitely what songs should make you want to do!

Despite not loving her music, I am a BIG fan of Florence’s fashion, and her unique style. Much of her clothing always adopts a very vintage british theme, favouring elegant teadresses, blazers, and 80’s style leather jackets. This is my most FAVOURITE form of fashion, as I think it’s so elegant and eclectic. Florence usually collates pieces with lace or floral patterns somewhere in her outfit, but is always contrasted with at least one masculine touch. This is usually her shoes. A fan of them herself, and seemingly amongst teens today, is the Oxford Brogues.
Now, despite my personal dislike for them, they seem to be sticking around, and I have seen A LOT of people wearing them. What do you guys think about them? Love or hate? Do you think they’re funky or just plain awful? And if you have a pair, where did you get yours from?

Email me with your opinions guys! I’d love to hear from you, always!

Keep singing!

Mobo's

So, who watched the MOBO’S on Tuesday night? Unfortunately I missed it, but managed to catch up on all the gossip and winners! To see who won what awards, click on this link!
The outfit theme of the night seemed to take a very aztec tribal direction, with stars such as Dionne Bromfield, supermodel Jourdan Dunn, and newcomer Yasmin wearing dresses of bold prints and details. Look below for some pics!
Dionne
Dionne Bromfield changed twice during the ceremony, the second time to this black dress and train, to perform a tribute to her Godmother – Amy Winehouse. Both dresses carried the same tribal theme.
Alexis
Singer Alexis Jordan wore a lovely short black dress with gold details
Yasmin
Singer Yasmin wore a floor length Julien Mcdoland dress, complete with feather print.

What are your thoughts on the girls’ choice of outfits? I personally think Yasmin’s dress is stunning, accentuating her curves! I love the red lippy too! Do you prefer the longer or shorted styles of dresses? Which ones your favourite?

So.. email me with your favourites, and your opinions.. we can then see which outfit you prefer!

Jessie J to Vocal Coach Up Coming Stars on BBC Show

SO..... Who out of you little Vocadlets has heard of a little singer called….. JESSIE J? Of course you have, no question about it. Being one of the hottest singers at the moment, who hasn’t heard of her? However, incase you haven’t, she penned and sang hits such as ‘Do it like a dude’ and ‘Price tag’. She has exploded onto the UK music scene, and is now making her way to the USA too!
She has recently been publicising a new TV show – THE VOICE, on which she will be a coach. What’s it all about!? Well, it’s a similar concept to the X Factor, BUT.. it has a very unique twist. If you qualify for the live TV shows, you will be met with 3 celebrities, who are sitting with their backs to you. There, you will audition. If they like the sound of your voice, they will turn around and reveal themselves to you. The contestant then gets to pick which coach they would like to mentor them. Jessie J says that with this unique way of audition, contestants will be judged on their talent, and not on what their appearance is.
DESPITE the fact that I am a massive fan of Jessie J anyway, I think this is a really positive idea for a TV show. Too much of the industry is based on image and what someone looks like – which isn’t what it’s supposed to be about at all!
What are your thoughts about the idea of this show? Do you think it’s too similar to the X Factor? Or do you think it’s a positive idea? Check out The Voice Website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/thevoiceuk/?gclid=CPjz-uG34KsCFcMOfAodahLmRA
